Sioux Empire United Way

Dear Sioux Empire United Way Supporter,

2011 marks Sioux Empire United Way's 10th anniversary of funding Dolly Parton's Imagination Library program in the Sioux Empire. In those 10 years, 944,857 books have been provided to area children. Lisa, a mother of two who currently receives books, says, "We just love the books. Before having Sam, I didn't know a lot about children's books. I don't think any new parent has the time to go to the store and read through books to find the good ones." To read more of Lisa's story, click here.

Connecting Kids

With summer approaching, many children are looking forward to summer activities. Did you know your support of United Way provides kids with the opportunity to participate in year-round extracurricular activities, including sports, music, theater, summer camps, and more?

Last year, 605 students used a Connecting Kids certificate to help offset the costs of participating in such activities. Kindergarten through 8th grade students can use one certificate per calendar year. To learn more about the program or to request a certificate, click here.
