Costello Companies
ECM Colleen Lunstra helped her coworkers get into the United Way spirit, celebrating Back to Football Friday on September 10 by wearing football jerseys to work. Activities focused on United Way's national partnership with the NFL and their shared commitment to encourage youth to live healthy. Employees participated in a 20-minute brisk walk, enjoyed fruit for snacks, and a healthy lunch catered by Mixed.

Their United Way spirit doesn't stop there! The company's campaign activities will continue next week with a traditional rally and a game of Bingo. Employees who pledge will receive a Bingo card and could earn can coozies, coffee mugs, or gift cards to area stores.

Sioux Empire United Way
cutting the cake Sioux Empire United Way staff held a week of August activities for their employee campaign. Co-ECMs Elly (Meyer) Swartz and JoEllen Wrolstad planned a wedding-themed week, in honor of Elly's own August wedding. Staff participated in activities such as pin the veil on the bride and ring toss.

While the activities and food were fun, the giving was serious. SEUW employees achieved a 15% increase in giving.

What do you enjoy about supporting United Way?

There is so much I enjoy. First, meeting so many people who are dedicated to improving our community. Second, there is no doubt in my mind that the partner agencies and UW initiatives make a huge difference. Both for immediate needs and to meet long-term issues within the region.

Any fun facts about you, your family, your career or hobbies that you'd like to share?
I like Minnesota Twins baseball, and I really like boating and running around on a personal water craft. Of course, the most fun is when I get to go with my daughters.
